Incident stray light is minimized by the cabinet which is closed on 3 sides so that an observation is possible without the need of a darkroom. Due to the use of a high pressure mercury vapour discharge lamp, the HP-UVIS provides a very high radiation intensity at 366 nm for fluorescence evaluation of thin-layer chromatograms. In this respect, it is superior to all analyzing lamps with cold light tubes. Fluorescent substances can still be detected in nanogram quantities. One 8 W low pressure tube together with a selected filter guarantee an optimum contrast at 254 nm. The HP-UVIS is equipped with a UV protection shield<\/p>\n<p>It does not require the use of a darkroom.<\/p>\n<p>To increase contrast, it is important to filter visible light using a <strong>special filter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At <strong>254 nm<\/strong>, the substances on the T<strong>LC\/HPTLC plates<\/strong> contain a <strong>fluorescence indicator<\/strong> which appears dark against a <strong>light-fluorescent<\/strong> background.<\/p>\n<p>This type of high-energy lamp can detect substances in the <strong>nanogram<\/strong> range.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2760\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bionis.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/HP-UVIS-2.0-longueurs-donde.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"343\" height=\"251\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can replace one of the lamps in the HP-UVis NxG TLC Viewer with a white-light lamp if required.<\/p>\n<p>The HP-UVis NxG TLC viewer is equipped with a tilting UV protection tray. Users can work on TLC or HPTLC plates (pencil marking, preparative TLC, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>A built-in safety system cuts the power supply to the UV lamps if the tray is tilted by more than
