Plate preparation

In TLC, before starting an analysis, it is essential to ensure meticulous preparation of the support plates, particularly with regard to their cleanliness.

Pre-washing the plates is then recommended. It removes traces, dust and products absorbed into the atmosphere, such as humidity. The plate can then be stored in the drying basket provided.

The plate can be stabilized by washing with the required eluent.

When neglected, this step is one of the causes of non-repeatability.

Finally, it is sometimes economical to test a piece of plate.

Tools have been developed to remedy the situation. are the plate spreader-preparer and the plate cutter.

The plate spreader-preparer can be supplied as a complete set, including the device, a set of glass plates and a silica charge that can be deposited.
