Derivatization

After separation, derivatization is often necessary.
Reactive products are applied to the TLC plate, triggering a chemical reaction that makes the substances visible or changes their color under UV or white light.
The information gathered in this way enables substances to be identified.

There are three different ways of applying chemicals: pressing, soaking and spraying.

Spraying is the method that provides the best control over the development stage.

In this context, the ChromaJet DS 20 is ideal for the application of derivatization reagents.

It enables reagents to be sprayed onto very precise, user-defined areas. This technology, the only one of its kind on the market, offers users substantial savings in reagent consumption.

And, thanks to the Chromajet DS20’s closed system, users can work in complete safety.
